Central Texas Soldier Dies In Roadside Bombing In Iraq
A roadside bomb has claimed the life of an Army private from Central Texas, family members said Friday.

(September 16, 2006)—Army Pfc. Jeffrey Shaffer, 21, of Waco died Wednesday in a roadside bombing in Iraq, family members said Friday.

Shaffer was assigned to the 1st Armored Division.

He died in Ar Ramadi where Sunni Arab militants and US troops have been fighting for months.

Shaffer attended West High School.

Survivors include his parents, Mark and Melissa Adams of Waco, and his brother, Stephen Shaffer of Waco.

Arrangements were pending at OakCrest Funeral Home of Waco.
