MOODY (February 19, 2009)-A Belton teenager was killed and two other Belton teens were injured when the car in which they were riding overturned at about 10:22 p.m. Wednesday near Moody.
The Texas Department of Public Safety told News 10 Samuel Fletcher Goodrich, 18, the driver, was thrown from the car when it overturned several times on Farm-to-Market Road 2113, a quarter mile north of Horne Hill.
McLennan County Justice of the Peace Frank Culpepper pronounced Goodrich dead at the scene at 11:20 p.m.
Injured in the crash were Aubrey Waltrip, 14, and Matthew Yasuda, 17.
They were taken to a local hospital by ambulance, but information on their conditions have not been released.
The DPS report indicated the 2007 Cadillac was westbound when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, overcorrected and the car left the road surface.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt but both passengers were, according to the investigator's report.

Sam's dad was amazing and brave to get up there and speak to us all yesterday. Let us all take this as a lesson and on graduation night, or any other night, not only should we wear our seat belts, but just not make dumb decisions. I am not implying that there was any alcohol or anything else involved in Sam's accident, because I know for a fact there wasn't. I think about Sam every time I get into my car now. Please do the same. He will be greatly missed. We love you, Sam.

Please stop the madness. We celebrated Sam's life yesterday and he truly was a remarkable kid.Having personally seen the accident site and the car,it was horrific.Yes there was no seat belt, and his brave father spoke to all the young kids about to graduate and to other drivers about the importance of putting your belt on-if not do it in the memory of Sambo. There was trauma to him that would have been there regardless of the seat belt so please stop.He was a remarkable kid and had so much to offer the world and he'll be missed by our family. His family is in the process of moving so they have that stress as well,so please take the fighting gloves off and say a prayer for his parents and my darling niece.I was so proud of Aubry and Matt to be so brave as to visit with Sam's parents and to come to the memorial yesterday.Know that we all will be selected to go home someday so let's all just smile the little smile that Sam had and make it the best days we can.Say hi to Mark&Bronson.XOXOSAMBO
