FBI Makes Arrest In Major Texas Child Porn Case
A 61-year-old Texas man was in federal custody Friday after he was indicted in what authorities said was a major child pornography case

SAN ANTONIO (February 20, 2009)—Nigel Frederick Gale, 61, was in federal custody Friday after he was indicted in what authorities said was a major child pornography case.

A federal grand jury indictment unsealed Friday charges Gale with single counts of receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Gale is a former vice president of the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Federal agents executed a search warrant on March 27, 2008 at Gale’s residence and seized two computers, according to a release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Investigators found more than 300,000 images and more than 2,500 videos on the computer depicting child pornography, officials said.

Another 600 images of child pornography were discovered on the hard drive of Gale’s office computer, authorities said.

A detention hearing is scheduled Monday in San Antonio.
