MCLENNAN CO. (April 15, 2012) -- A woman seriously injured in a car accident Saturday, has died.
Judy Mauerman, 49, of Crawford was pronounced dead at 12:04 p.m. at Scott & White Hospital.
Mauerman was a passenger in a car that was rear-ended just before 7 p.m. on Saturday.
She was airlifted to Scott & White Hospital in Temple in serious condition.
The driver of the truck said he was blinded by the sun did not see the sports car, whose driver was attempting to turn onto Old Crawford Road, the Department of Public Safety said.
The resulting impact sent the sports car into oncoming traffic that led to a collision with a silver minivan.
The driver of the van and the driver of the sports car were taken by ambulance to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries.
Both have since been released.
The driver of the truck was uninjured, and Highway 6 was re-opened to traffic an hour and a half after the accident.
No charges have been filed.
