WACO (February 24, 2009)—Two people were injured Thursday morning when a passenger car flipped on Interstate 35 and then was hit by an 18-wheeler.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. Monday on the southbound Interstate at FM 308 in Elm Mott north of Waco.

Authorities said the driver evidently lost control of the car, which hit a guardrail before flipping.

At least one of the injured was taken to a local hospital.

The accident was backing up southbound traffic late Tuesday morning.

Other details weren’t immediately available.

Another accident in the area of the South 5th Street exit in Waco was also backing up traffic Tuesday morning.
