WASHINGTON (February 24, 2009)—The 2009 Appropriations bill includes $500,000 for an upgrade of the Lacy-Lakeview wastewater treatment facility, Rep. Chet Edwards, D-Waco, said Tuesday.

The House is expected to pass the bill later this week, Edwards said.

The funds for Lacy-Lakeview come through the State and Tribal Assistance Grant program, Edwards said.

"Upgrading Lacy Lakeview's wastewater treatment system is key to the city's future economic growth," Edwards said.
