MEXIA (February 26, 2009)—Mexia State School residents were kept out of class Thursday and some Mexia school district staffers took preventative doses of medication after a bacterial meningitis scare at the state school.

Tests, however, confirmed Thursday afternoon that the ill resident did not have meningitis.

Mexia School Superintendent Dr. Jason Ceyanes told News Ten earlier Thursday that state school students who ordinarily attend Mexia schools were kept out of the class because of the scare.

School district staff members who provide instructional services on the state school campus received preventative medication because of the scare, Ceyanes, said.

The state school was not locked down because of the scare, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services said.

Fairly good job on the re-write, but the report still contains some redundancies and other problems. Hire a writer to edit.

Could you PLEASE stop having something about Jason Ceyanes everyday on the news. Does he call you guys or what? He just wants to make a name for himself and likes to hear and see himself on TV. Enough already!
