WACO (March 9, 2009)—Miguel Camarena, 32, a Mexican National who was living in Dallas, was sentenced to life in federal prison Monday for his role in a drug distribution and money-laundering ring that operated in Waco, Temple, Killeen, Belton and Dallas, U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton said.

Authorities think the organization laundered more than $16 million in drug proceeds during the life of the conspiracy, Sutton said Monday.

Federal District Judge Walter Smith sentenced Camarena, who pleaded guilty in October to single counts of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and conspiracy to commit money laundering, Sutton said.

Camarena agreed to forfeit three Dallas-area properties to the government that Sutton said were used by the organization to store and distribute cocaine and methamphetamine.

Camarena was arrested in November 2007 based on information he was involved in distributing more than 650 kilograms of cocaine and more than 250 kilograms of methamphetamine smuggled in from Mexico over a five-year period, Sutton said.

Camarena is among 18 defendants prosecuted and sentenced to prison in connection with the conspiracy, Sutton said.

He's just here in America doing those jobs Americans are too lazy to do! Give him a break, give him citizenship papers, he's EARNED them....as much as any ILLEGAL ALIEN HAS EARNED THEM! EVERY illegal alien is a CRIMINAL and deserves to be thrown into the worst hellhole prison we can find! This one is just MORE of a criminal than is usual, but they are all CRIMINALS! I know a lady who's ex-boyfriend was convicted of sex crimes against a child. He served time in Hunstville, then was deported and told not to come back. IT TOOK HIM EXACTLY THREE WEEKS TO SHOW BACK UP AT HER WORK AND THREATEN HER (she turned him in). The police won't do anything about him. They won't deport him, arrest him for threatening her, or anything! I have since moved the lady to another town. SHE is in HIDING because the liberals will not ENFORCE the IMMIGRATION, BORDER, or ANY OTHER LAWS AGAINST THESE ILLEGAL ALIENS! That's just plain wrong! My question is: How many times has this criminal been caught before?!?
