ROSEBUD (March 16, 2009)-Texas Rangers are investigating an incident in which a former Rosebud police officer is alleged to have choked a teenager after a traffic stop.
On Jan. 17, 2009, Rosebud police got a call about a fight between some teenagers involving at least one teen from Eddy.
Around 12:20 a.m., a Department of Public Safety Trooper stopped to check out to a disabled vehicle on the side of the road on Highway 77 near CR 351, and then contacted Rosebud police.
Officer Jack Comeaux responded and connected the teenagers in the disabled vehicle to the report about a fight.
According to Comeaux, the Eddy teenager went to a Rosebud home along with two other teenagers, claimed to have weapons and tried to start a fight.
According to Comeaux' report, the teenager "became mad and argumentative and begin to show attitude," when the officer spoke with him.
Rosebud Police Chief Tim Wells told News 10 Monday when the teen refused to take his hands out of his pockets Comeaux used excessive force, grabbing the teenager by the throat.
In his report, Comeaux said, "sensing that he might have a weapon on himself, I grabbed (him) by the throat with one hand and tried to remove his hands."
The teenager wasn't seriously injured and didn't require hospital treatment.
The trooper's dashboard camera recorded the incident.
Texas Rangers are reviewing the video.
Comeaux has since resigned from the Rosebud Police force.

Im not the one who lost my job now did I?
Garrett, you're a STUPID LITTLE KID. Did you stop to think for one second that there was a reason your name was not listed in the newspaper article or the television reports about this? Maybe your parents didn't want everyone else to know who you were! Well, you've kind of blown that for yourself, didn't you?! That's apparently the same kind of thinking (or non-thinking) you did that night, otherwise you wouldn't be in this mess. Grow up and learn to think about things before you do them!
We work w/these kids ever day in the prison system and they are not here because they were in CHURCH..so my point it your safety is in jeopardy that is most important. We have a few bad apples in every job.Just follow the rules and this wouldn't have had to happen. No bodies fault but the kid.For not following orders just like we all have to go by rules and regulations.
