LAKE BELTON (March 19, 2009)-The search for a Central Texas man missing and presumed drowned after a boating accident on Lake Belton resumes again Thursday Morning

The search area was narrowed Wednesday to a one-square-mile area.

Jarod Dawkins, 27, of Temple, has been missing since the boat he and four other men were in capsized Tuesday evening.

Frederick Munger, 38, of Belton died in the accident.

Three others survived, but one was flown by helicopter to Scott & White Hospital.

One of the survivors went back out on the lake with searchers Wednesday to try to help establish where the boat was when it capsized.

The survivor’s recollections, along with returns from a sonar device searchers used to scan the lake’s bottom, helped redefine the search area.

Dustin Lay, who lives nearby, said he heard screams for help Tuesday night.

He said he found two men lying on shore and two others drifting toward the shore.

The fifth man, identified Wednesday as Dawkins, was adrift in the lake, and was either wearing or holding on to a life jacket.

Lay said the men told him the 14-foot boat hit something in the lake and capsized.

Searchers planned to use sonar Wednesday afternoon to try to narrow the search area.

Relatives of the missing man arrived at the staging area for the search early Tuesday morning.

Well this has come to an end. Jarred was found. My prayers for the family, I am trully sorry for your loss. Why was there no news on the recovery? I found out by reading the Temple Daily News. I guess this just wasnt worth news 10's time. All the time spent on the water by the TPWD and Bell County S.O and the divers from different police agencies is just another day doing thier job, I guess...good reporting guys! For all the people that posted what a waste this kid was remember...what if it was you we were looking for and next time, maybe you will show a little respect for the dead! This may not get posted and I dont care either way, but I hope you think next time before you post, It could have been you in the news. God bless.
