LUBBOCK (March 23, 2009)-Baylor women’s basketball head coach Kim Mulkey was hospitalized Sunday in Lubbock following an adverse reaction to medication.

Mulkey had undergone surgery Friday to remove a kidney stone prior to the team’s departure for Lubbock.

Baylor associate media relations director Julie Bennett said Sunday that Mulkey was taken to University Medical Center on Sunday morning where she remained in stable condition.

The hospital however did not have a record of Mulkey’s admittance early Monday.

Leon Barmore, whom Mulkey played for and coached with at Louisiana Tech, coached the Bears in their 87-82 win against the University of Texas at San Antonio Sunday night.

Mulkey's status for Tuesday night's second round game against South Dakota State remains uncertain.

Hey, look at those Lady Bears. They were shaken up for a good part of the game, but rallied to take it to the mat with UTSA. We kept wondering it Kim was conscious, because if she was, she was having a fit through the whole game. We are praying for a quick recovery. Maybe Kim will soon be back to her rock 'em, sock 'em self and back on the sidelines coaching the Lady Bears on to the final four. Best wishes to the Men's team as well.
