WACO (March 24, 2009)--A mid-day traffic accident on Interstate 35 near Waco Drive has sent at least three persons to a local hospital, including one infant.

A report from the scene indicates rescuers had to cut a woman from one of the wrecked vehicles before she could be taken to a local hospital.

Traffic was at a stand still at 12:30 while workers cleared the scene.

The accident happened at the 338-A exit, southbound. It involved a minivan and two other automobiles.

Weather conditions on the roadway could have contributed to the wreck.

Waco Fire Department, Department of Public Safety troopers and personnel from East Texas Medical Center Emergency Medical Services were at the scene until about 12:30 p.m.

Conditions of those injured were not immediately available.

why doesn't someone do something about this, like change the speed limit make it 55, and have more troopers patroling for speeders, this is ridiculous! I rather waste more gas and hit every red light than to drive on I35!

Yeah. For Real. Instead of slowing down, people driving in Waco seem to speed up and drive even faster and do even more stupid things.
