NAVARRO COUNTY (March 26, 2009)—The search continued Thursday for Jerry King, 72, of Athens and his grandson, Jerrod Rachel, 17, who disappeared after a boating accident Tuesday on Richland Chambers Reservoir southeast of Corsicana.

The two disappeared sometime between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday while fishing on the lake.

Searchers found the pontoon boat the two were on and used King’s GPS logs to narrow the search area.

“We still don’t know exactly what happened, but there is some damage to the bow of the pontoon boat and it appears that a large wave may have caused one of the boaters to go overboard and the other went after him.” Game Warden Capt. Gary Dugan said.

“The wind was blowing pretty hard out of the south-southeast that day, and conditions were rough,” Dugan said.

Evidently, neither man was wearing a life jacket, officials said.
Four game warden boats and a boat from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office were on the 41,000-acre lake Thursday

This is SO sad....I hope they can at least find the bodies so the families can rest a little better.
