WACO (March 27, 2009)—A five-vehicle accident Friday at a busy Waco intersection snarled lunch hour traffic.
Police are trying to sort out the details of the chain-reaction accident, but it appears that a driver who was headed north on Valley Mills Drive wasn’t able to stop in time as the light changed at the intersection of Valley Mills and West Waco Drive.
The motorist tried to back up and in the process ran into a truck stopped behind the passenger car at the intersection.
Then the driver tried to go forward, but the car ran into an SUV that was crossing the intersection on Waco Drive.
A truck hit the damaged SUV and then another passenger car got tangled up in the noon hour demolition derby.
At least one other fender bender occurred as police investigated the first accident.
One person was taken to a local hospital, but the injuries did not appear to be serious.

Sounds like a case of several people driving while "H-U-A"
The red light camera in Bryan/College Station has definitely been a great asset in preventing accidents. It's so easy to just slow down in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personal injury lawyers in Waco should be making a killing right now. I'm sure the bad economy hasn't hurt their pockets with all the stupid traffic accidents in Waco. I say stupid because it's some driver doing something stupid. Thinking that they can squeeze into a spot, thinking their car is faster than what it really is, speeding in the rain, or just not paying attention. I should be a personal injury lawyer right now. This past Mon-Fri, I know there was at least one accident on each of those days.
