BOSQUE COUNTY (April 1, 2009)—Investigators from the state Fire Marshal’s Office will help authorities in Bosque County investigate a Wednesday morning house fire that claimed a life.
Karen Stovall, 60, who was confined to a wheel chair, was found dead inside her home on Stovall Ranch Road, just off State Highway 22, west of Meridian Wednesday morning.
Bosque County Justice of the Peace Jamie Zander pronounced Stovall dead at the scene.
The initial report of the fire went to Cranfills Gap, and Meridian firefighters were later called for assistance, according to Meridian Fire Marshal Jeff Keys.
Keys told News 10 he had no indication of cause or origin of the fire.
Sheriff's office investigator Clint Pullin was at the scene just after midday Wednesday searching for cause and origin.
The one story frame home was destroyed in the fire.
Stovall was at home alone at the time of the fire, which was reported to Meridian Fire Department at about 7 a.m. Wednesday
