Video will be available shortly

(September 26, 2006)—An Oklahoma man owes his life to his dog, whose persistence allowed him to escape from his burning home.

Charles Threlkeld of fell asleep with a candle still burning in his home.

His dog Meadow jumped on his bed and tugged on him until he woke up.

He and the dog escaped, but little except for a few pictures could be salvaged.

Threlkeld was still in ICU Tuesday.

Thankful relatives said they were hoping to find someone with a kennel to take care of the dog until Threlkeld is released from the hospital.
