COPPELL, Texas (April 7, 2009)--Officials with a suburban Dallas school district say a 16-year-old student is accused of having child pornography.
Coppell district officials say the Cyber Crimes Unit of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested the New Tech High School student on March 23.
District spokeswoman Tamerah Ringo said the boy's school-issued laptop computer was among the technology items seized at his home.
Ringo told The Associated Press, "Whether or not there's any pornography on it (the school-issued laptop), we don't know."
The boy's identity wasn’t released.
Ringo says the boy has been assigned to the district's disciplinary alternative education program until the investigation is over.
