WEST (April 7, 2009) - A week after his public intoxication arrest, West Mayor and longtime businessman Jerrel Bolton says he is embarrassed, but did nothing wrong.
Bolton says he was suffering from a food allergy when he pulled over around 11 p.m. on March 31st when he pulled over near a pizza place in Bellmead. He says he was in his truck for 4 to 5 hours before the police showed up.
Bolton says he didn't have a drop of alcohol that night, and that he was just suffering from that food allergy.
"I regret it, apologize to the citizens of West for embarrassing them, and it will be made right." Bolton said.

Bolton should resign!!!! Leaders should lead by example and there are to many deaths attributed to drunk driving in West. He has set a poor example for our community and the city council should reconsider his resignation.
