(October 3, 2006)—Men’s Fitness Magazine ranks Baylor University as the ninth fittest university in the US, one place behind eighth-ranked Texas Christian University.
The list appears in the latest issue of the magazine, which ranks Dickinson College in Pennsylvania as the nation’s fittest college.
The magazine ranked the colleges in four areas: Intake, behavior, school offers and culture of fitness.
Baylor earned an A- in intake and school offers, an A in culture of fitness and a B- in behavior.
Baylor’s director of campus recreation said the university offers comprehensive programs aimed at enhancing healthy lifestyles.
“So many things can be related back to the physical development and so many people focus only on the physical. ...we are concerned with the holistic lifestyle patterns of students both while they are here and long after they leave the university,” Scott said.
