FORT WORTH (April 15, 2009)--A Dallas real estate agent was in custody charged with capital murder Wednesday in connection with an attempted rape and murder that happened two decades ago.
Police say Jay Thayer Williams' fingerprints matched those recovered from duct tape used on a woman found dead in her Fort Worth home in 1986.
The 63-year-old agent with William Davis Realty was arrested on a capital murder warrant Wednesday and was jailed in Fort Worth in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Sandra Martin's husband found her shot to death in their home in 1986.
Their two young children were home at the time, but were unharmed.
The Martins' house was for sale by owner, but Fort Worth police said there is no indication the victim knew Williams.
