WASHINGTON COUNTY (April 19, 2009)—A search was underway Sunday in Washington County for two people missing after a pickup truck went over a 20-foot cliff and landed in the Brazos River.

The search is focused on a stretch of the river between Highway 105 and Highway 290.

The truck went into the river at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning on private property.

KBTX-TV in Bryan reports that it appears the four did not have permission to be on the property and were evidently unfamiliar with the area.

Authorities said the accident was reported until about 7 a.m.

Two menwho were riding in the bed of the truck survived, but the two who were riding in the truck’s cab are missing.

The survivors, Juan Carlos Esneider, 22, and Luis Loredo, 29, both of Navasota,, have been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Other charges are possible.

Two Whitney High School students died last week when the truck in which they were mudding at Lake Whitney went over a cliff and into the lake.
