(October 13, 2006)--City officials in Wichita Falls say a police officer has been suspended over graphic images on his Web page at MySpace.com.

Jeremiah Love's page on the free-access site included pictures of dismembered women and other graphic images.

A police department internal affairs report says pictures and statements on Love's page could undermine public confidence in the department.

Assistant city attorney Julia Vasquez says Love espoused a fondness for violence on the Web page that would hurt his testimony in criminal cases.

Love's attorney says the 26-year-old will appeal the suspension on the grounds that the punishment is excessive.

According to the internal affairs report, Love designed his site in the genre of horror movies.

Love told investigators the site was meant to be humorous.

The page has been removed from the Web site.
