(October 20, 2006)--A Wisconsin grocery store clerk is under arrest on charges he's behind the hoax that claimed there would be dirty bomb attacks during this weekend's NFL games.
Jake Brahm surrendered to federal authorities Friday morning, and was due in a Milwaukee court later in the day.
The US Attorney in Newark, N.J., says Brahm is charged in a sealed criminal complaint.
Giants Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, was one of seven NFL sites mentioned in the online threat, which turned up about a week ago.
Homeland security officials quickly discredited it.
Another of the sites was Houston's Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans.
An FBI official in Washington told The Associated Press the Wisconsin man acknowledges posting the fake threats because he was battling a Brownsville-area man to see who could come up with the scariest posting.
The Texas man backed up the story when agents quizzed him.
