Good morning, it’s Saturday, May 9, the 129th day of 2009. There are 236 days left in the year.
It’s Election Day throughout Central Texas. The day will be cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. We’ll be in the lower 70s to start the day and temperatures will rise into the 80s this afternoon.
A year ago today, the wedding party of former first daughter Jenna Bush rolled into Salado for a rehearsal dinner while thunderstorms rolled through Coryell and McLennan Counties, causing damage in downtown Gatesville and creating a mess on the Bush ranch where tents had been erected for the wedding the next day. Fortunately there was time to clean up and the ceremony went off without a hitch.
