BU Names Three New Administrators
Baylor University announced the appointment of three new administrators Wednesday including a vice president of student life.

WACO (May 13, 2009)—Baylor University announced the appointment of three new administrators Wednesday.

Dr. Kevin Jackson will join Baylor from Texas A&M University on July 1 as vice president of student life, succeeding Dr. Samuel “Dub” Oliver who becomes president of East Texas Baptist University on June 1.

Kent E. Muckel joined Baylor from the University of Colorado Foundation on May 1 as the school’s chief investment officer.

John J. Whelan will join Baylor from the University of Notre Dame on June 8 in the new position of vide president for human resources, succeeding Jonathan Hook who left Baylor in July 2008 to become vice president and chief investment officer at Ohio State University.

“Kevin Jackson’s experience and his commitment to helping our students to integrate faith and learning will help Baylor continue its tremendous forward progress,” said interim Baylor President Dr. David Garland.

“I am confident that he will provide strong leadership in the division of student life and make a positive addition to Baylor’s executive team.

“We will benefit additionally from the expertise provided by our other management appointments,” he said.
