TEMPLE (May 14, 2009)—A small child and two adults were in an apartment where a shot was fired during a late-night home invasion robbery, Temple, police said Thursday.
Temple police responded at about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday to a report that shots had been fired at Crestview Homes at 1717 E. Avenue I, where a man and a woman told officers that a man they knew forced his way into their apartment, displayed a gun and demanded money.
The residents told officers that during the hold-up, the robber fired a shot into the ceiling.
The two adults and the child were in the room at the time, police said.
The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was black, about 5-foot-11 with a medium build and an Afro-style haircut, police said.
He was wearing a black shirt.
Police said one of the victim’s became uncooperative as investigators began to gather evidence, but said “because the child was placed at risk during the incident, the case remains under investigation at this time.”
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Temple Police Department at (254) 298-5500.
