(October 30, 2006)—A wind gust blew a billboard suspended from a crane cable into power lines Monday as crews attempted to install the sign along Highway 6 near the McLennan County Jail.

The billboard sliced through the power lines, leaving some businesses in the area in the dark, although the jail was not affected.

No injuries were reported.

Service was restored by late afternoon.
