(October 30, 2006)—US Marshals arrested escaped Central Texas jail inmate Daniel Leroy Swain, 23, Monday afternoon in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Swain escaped Friday afternoon from the recreational area of the Bosque County Jail in Meridian.
He reportedly attacked a local resident and stole a car to flee the area.
Authorities set up checkpoints at roads leading out of Meridian and checked all incoming and outgoing vehicles, but Swain evidently eluded the dragnet.
The Bosque County Sheriff’s Department said additional details about the escape and capture would be released Tuesday.
