(November 2, 2006)—The Waco McLennan County Public Health District will put its plans for managing Pandemic Flu to the test Thursday during a daylong tabletop exercise.
The goal of the exercise is to clarify the roles various groups including traditional first responders would play in the event of a pandemic.
The drill will also show areas that require refinement or modification.
Experts say the effects of a pandemic would be such that local governments would be forced to bear the burden of responding without the expectation of assistance from state or federal authorities.
