DALLAS (June 8, 2009)--About 40 people joined antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan as she planned to lead a protest Monday near former President George W. Bush's Dallas home.
The event Monday afternoon also brought out about a dozen people protesting the protest and about two dozen members of the media.
Sheehan's son, a 1st Cavalry Division soldier, was killed in the war in Iraq.
In 2005, she camped on a roadside near the president’s ranch, and demanded a meeting with Bush to talk about Casey Sheehan’s death.
Bush declined to talk with her, but the protest proved to be a catalyst for a growing peace movement.
The march Monday was sponsored by the Dallas Peace Center, which has been involved in protests with Sheehan since 2005.
After gathering on a corner, the protesters planned to walk to an elementary school across from Bush's new home.
Sheehan will speak about her 2005 vigil at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Poppa Rollo’s Pizza at 703 N. Valley Mills Dr. in Waco.
The speech is free.

Glad you are an "ex-wacoian, just sayin!!!!" Not all of us Waco folks are redneck hypocrites. You can't argue the fact that Sheehan is nothing more than a psycho who is insuting her son's memory by doing what she is doing. And as for your comment about Waco people, thank God you left!!
