GROESBECK (June 16, 2009)--A fire Monday evening near Groesbeck has left a family of four homeless.
The mobile home on County Road 412 was fully involved when the first Groesbeck fire units arrived at 5:45 p.m. Monday.
The home was a total loss.
Groesbeck Fire Chief Charles Bratcher told News 10 a woman who lived in the mobile home discovered the fire and attempted to put it out, which delayed her call to 911.
The fire started in the ceiling of the front of the home but no cause has yet been established.
Bratcher said the family the Church of the Rock, in Groesbeck is caring for the family members.
The chief said gusty winds and a dry heat made the fire difficult to fight.
Groesbeck, assisted by Mexia Fire Department and volunteer departments from Lake Mexia, Thornton and West Lake Limestone spent about three hours bringing the blaze under control.

I'm thankful that the Family wasn't hurt. Anyone that lives in a Mobile home must remember that according to the National Fire Council's study, that a Mobile Home will be fully burned in eight minutes!! So every second counts when there is a fire!!
