(BRYAN) June 22, 2009--A former Bryan teacher and area coach accused of molesting young boys was sentenced to prison Monday.

Bruce Unger pleaded guilty Monday to all charges against him.

He was sentenced to 40 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child, and bail jumping.

Unger was arrested in 2006 after allegations surfaced that he had sexually abused an 11-year-old boy.

Further charges followed when two teens stepped forward alleging abuse.

Then, days before his trial was set to begin in November 2007, Unger fled the United States.

He fled to Europe, but was caught by Ukrainian authorities a year later.

He had been working as an English instructor.

On arrest, Unger claimed he was a British citizen named Tyler McCoy and he didn't have his papers with him.

Unger denied his real identity, but when the FBI sent his fingerprints for verification, he admitted who he was.

Unger once worked as a teacher at Neal Elementary and coached at-risk boys soccer.

He was even named "Most Caring Coach" by USA Today in 2005 for the difference he made in the lives of his students.
