GATESVILLE (June 22, 2009)--A Coryell County man was behind bars Monday in Gatesville, charged aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury in connection with an attack last Wednesday that left his 64-year-old mother with serious injuries including at least one compound fracture, sheriff’s deputies said.

Spencer Peter Williams, 39, is held on a $30,000 bond.

Deputies were dispatched at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday to an address on Coryell County Road 315, between Oglesby and Leon Junction, in east central Coryell County where they found the woman suffering from multiple injuries.

The injured woman was taken to Coryell Memorial Hospital by CMH Emergency Medical Service ambulance where she was treated and admitted overnight.

Chief Deputy Joe Blakley said she was released on Thursday after treatment.

Her name was not released.
