HOUSTON (July 3, 2009)—An investigation was underway Friday after a suburban Houston man returned home from work to find his 18-year-old daughter dead in her closet.

A Harris County Sheriff's Department statement issued Friday identifies the dead woman as Trang Van.

Her body was found just before 9 p.m. Thursday in the family home in the Cypress-Fairbanks neighborhood of northwestern Harris County.

KTRK-TV in Houston reported the woman was evidently shot to death.

It quotes family members as saying the last time anyone is known to have spoken with the recent high school graduate was when her sister called her about 12:30 p.m.

After that, investigators say the sister was unable to reach her.

No arrests have been reported.
