(December 22, 2006)--The rare Velvet Underground acetate has sold on eBay for far less than the first auction, but that was revealed to be a prank anyway.
The rare version of "The Velvet Underground and Nico" sold on eBay Thursday for $25,200 to an unknown bidder.
The original supposed winning bid was for more than $155,000 earlier this month, but it was nullified when it was discovered the bidder was a fake.
Collector Warren Hill bought the acetate at a New York flea market for 75 cents and later realized he had a version of the album that had alternate mixes and a different order.
