WACO (July 6, 2009)—A 13-year-old Waco boy was injured Monday evening when a van struck him as he rode his bicycle the wrong way on a one-way street.
The teenager, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.
His injuries were not life threatening, police said.
The accident happened at the intersection of South 17th Street and Clay Avenue.
Police said the van driver was turning north on South 17th and didn’t see the teenager, who was riding south.
The driver and the teenager both swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision, but the bicycle hit the front passenger side of the van, police said.
No citations were issued, police said.

I'm glad there was no one seriously injured. And to DISGUSTED,KWTX will correct their mistakes before they post it. And to pat h; they have changed the Law several times over the years as to whether a bike rider rides facing the traffic, or with your back to the traffic.
Hey Disgusted, I read the article and it looks fine to me. Maybe you need to read the article several times before you make such an ignorant comment. This article used the context of "RODE" properly. I guess i paid attention in English class and i haven't been in school for over 20 years.
Who wrote this article, the 13 yer old? He "road" his bicycle?!!!!
