FRANKLIN (July 9, 2009)--Franklin Police have a mystery to solve, after the body of a man was discovered in an empty field on the same day a man was reported missing.
Franklin Police Chief Hunter Lankart says the badly decomposed remains were sent to Travis County for an autopsy, but said he doesn't expect foul play was involved.
It's unknown how long the body had been in the field, but Lankart says the medical examiner should be able to identify the person within the next couple of weeks.
Meantime, the family of Cary Lindan says the last time they saw him was on Friday, July 3.
Lindan's brother, Teddy says his brother has a history of mental problems.
Lindan is white, about 5-foot-10, and in his late forties.
He has blue eyes and weighs about 130 pounds.
If you have any information regarding Lindan's whereabouts or about the body discovered on Monday, call Franklin Police at 979-828-3444.
