CAMILLA (July 10, 2009)--Searchers Friday recovered the body of a former Chicago Cubs relief pitcher who was reported missing on a Southeast Texas lake.

A statement issued Friday by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department said Jessie Edward Hollins, 39, evidently drowned while fishing below Lake Livingston Dam Thursday afternoon.

Texas Game Warden Capt. Shawn Phillips said searchers found the Conroe native's body about 4 p.m. Friday, close to where he was reported to have been fishing.

Hollins was fishing on the Polk County bank of the Trinity River when he disappeared.

Hollins appeared in 1992 as a relief pitcher for the Cubs.

Chicago chose him in the 40th round of the 1988 draft out of San Jacinto Junior College.

Lake Livingston is about 80 miles north of Houston.
