Texas Boy Drowns While Visiting Relatives
A 6-year-old Texas boy who was visiting relatives in New Jersey has drowned.

METUCHEN, N.J. (July 16, 2009)--Police say a 6-year-old from Texas who was visiting relatives in New Jersey drowned in a pool.

Metuchen police say the boy was fully clothed and evidently fell into the in-ground swimming pool Wednesday.

Police and emergency personnel tried administering CPR to the child for nearly an hour.

Resuscitation efforts failed and the child was pronounced dead at a hospital.

His name and hometown have were not immediately released.

6? I made sure my daughter could swim at an early age just for this reason. She is 4 and can swim across a regular size swimming pool...I still dont leave her side ever, scares me to death just to think about it.My prayers are with the family
