WACO (July 17, 2009)-Two people were injured when a car collided with a former fast food restaurant in Waco late Thursday night.
The accident happened before 10:00 p.m. at the vacant Taco Bell building located in the 1800 block of North Valley Mills Drive, between Bosque Boulevard and Cobbs Drive.
A white Pontiac Grand Am struck the curb in front of the vacant building at what police say was a “high rate of speed.”
The car became airborne, sailing over a low retaining wall and into the corner of the building, police say.
Waco Fire Department responded with pneumatic tools to cut one of passengers out of the wreckage.
Both occupants of the vehicle were taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center with unknown injuries.
The accident, which briefly halted all traffic along N. Valley Mills Drive, remained under investigation Thursday night.

Thanks Waco Fire Department and the 'Jaws-Of-Life'. I hope these two were not seriously injured. Slow down on the Valley people!!
I am not surprised at all this has happened, I use to live on Lake Placid and would hear the cars racing down Valley Mills Drive, maybe this was one of those incidents. Hope everyone is okay.
