(July 17, 2009)--Marlin police asked for the public's help Friday in finding the people who attacked a prominent member of the community Wednesday.
Lucille Williams, 88, a local real estate agent, was attacked Wednesday in the driveway off her home in the 700 block of Capps Street, police said.
Williams suffered head injuries in the attack.
She went to a neighbor’s home for help.
The Marlin Police Department, Falls County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers are involved in the investigation.
Marlin police said Friday they are looking for some “persons of interest” in the attack, but did not release further details.

I know that Marlin has its problems and not all the time does our law enforcement conduct themselves in the proper manner. Atleast they are trying to do there jobs. There personal lifes should have no baring on how they do there job. Nor should they be judged on how they live there lives of duty as long as they too are obeying the laws. Please stop with all the negative comments and concentrate on how to help catch the ones who did this and lets try to make Marlin a better place to live.

To The Truth: If it is such a hillybilly department, and you know so much about the chief (who only has 10 kids), then you must associate with that department somehow. Why does it matter how many kids or baby's mamas he has? That has nothing to do with his ability as a chief. Whether or not he got a ticket or whether or not he tried to get out of the ticket has nothing to do with it either (that is from another comment on another story). If you knew anything about law enforcement you would know that they do not reveal all the details of a story to the news if they have not arrested anyone. That way, when someone comes forward and says something that was not in the story, then they know they have the right person. OMG!!! What a great idea!!! Don't assume you know what you are talking about until you do.

Yes, I live in Marlin and along with every city it has its ups and downs. I blame the media for only sharing the bad! Marlin is a city with wonderful, caring people. People are constantly trying to improve the city. Why shouldn't they - they call it home! For those of you that want to judge - I think you should walk a mile in the shoes of some of the hard working people in Marlin. As for the chief, I agree 10 kids maybe too many, but that is his choice. I know that he supports every one of them. Last time I checked, the number of kids you have doesn't determine how well that you do your job! Come see the brighter things in Marlin! It is there!!!
