WACO (July 29, 2009)—Waco police closed streets in the area of Frost Ave. and North 7th Street after a crew replacing a damaged telephone line hit a large-diameter natural gas line.
The break in the line, which evidently was not properly marked, sent gas and dirt about 20 feet into the air, officials said.
Officers shut down streets in one-block area while repairs were made
The work was expected to take about an hour.

City workers have got to be more careful, make sure things are marked correctly because this could have turned out to be a lot worse
