DALLAS (July 30, 2009)--A construction worker fell 23 stories to his death Thursday after the scaffolding on which he was working gave way at the St. Ann Court high-rise office building project in Dallas.

Witnesses said the man was installing hardware on the facade of the 23rd floor of the 26-story, 333-foot structure when the scaffold collapsed at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Dallas fire-rescue spokesman Jason Evans told KDFW-TV of Dallas and Fort Worth reports that the 35-year-old man was the only one on the scaffold.

His identity hasn't been released.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.

I know someone who works at this sight, and they said that the equipemnt the guy was given was faulty. My friend was there the day the guy fell, and he said all you heard was a thump... the thought of that is sickening to me. I told him to check his equipment very carefuly, daily.. I prey he listens.

Another Texas worker falls to his death working on a construction project. Texas is number one in the nation on the number of construction site work place deaths. The developers and builders in this state don't even provide their workers sufficient water to stay hydrated so they can do their job. The employer of this poor worker needs to be sued right out of the industry. There is no excuse for this kind negligence.
