Donald W. Herring, 51, of Lampasas, was arrested in Lampasas County, ironically enough by a real Texas Ranger.
Herring is charged accused of Impersonating a Public Servant.
Copperas Cove Police say Herring was arrested on a warrant that originated in their department alleging he attempted to pass himself off as Texas Ranger near a convenience store in the city.
