Lampasas Man Arrested For Posing As Texas Ranger
A Lampasas man was arrested Thursday on charges of impersonating a public servant.

COPPERAS COVE (July 31, 2009)-A Lampasas man is in jail Friday, accused of passing himself off as a Texas Ranger.
Donald W. Herring, 51, of Lampasas, was arrested in Lampasas County, ironically enough by a real Texas Ranger.
Herring is charged accused of Impersonating a Public Servant.
Copperas Cove Police say Herring was arrested on a warrant that originated in their department alleging he attempted to pass himself off as Texas Ranger near a convenience store in the city.
Herring remains in the Copperas Cove Jail on a bond of $7,500, set by Lampasas Co. Justice of the Peace Sheila Blackwell Hood.
Police say Herring on July 25 and 26 approached several customers at the Mickey’s Convenience Store located at 1306 Georgetown Road in Copperas Cove.
