BELTON (August 01, 2009)-Three Bell County teens are counting their blessings Saturday after surviving a close call Friday night.

A captain with the Belton Fire Department told News 10 the three teens, all between 16- and 17-years old, were swimming in Nolan Creek on the west side of Belton Friday night when the water became too swift.

The Belton Fire Department responded to Nolan Creek near Loop 121 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. where they performed a swift water rescue.

In dramatic fashion, firefighters were sent into the water with ropes to rescue the three teens.

The Belton Fire Department captain told News 10 the three teens were rescued without incident and did not require medical attention.

One of the teens however managed to make it home without his pants; the captain said he planned to contact the teen later in the day to return the pair apparently left at the scene Friday night.

Say what you want, but it's usually the city slickers that do these sort of things, including "acts of ignorance in fast water." Come to the country for a great education they don't teach you in school.

Come on folks, where did you grow up? Maybe is a really sheltered controlled enviroment. Stop and think of all the foolish things you did as a teenager, We have all done at least one stupid thing in our life and we learned great lessons from it. Lets just thank the Good Lord no one was hurt!
