Rescue crews continued their search for the man into Wednesday.
The man was driving a car that was rear-ended by another car in the middle of the bridge on Tuesday night.
Waco Police officers closed the bridge in both directions while crews searched for the missing man.
Police estimate the drop from the bridge into the river below was about 100 feet.
One witness told police a man was later seen getting out of the water and running from the bank of the river
The Waco Fire Department launched its rescue boat, focusing on an area about 300 yards downstream where authorities say the man may have been able to get out of the water.
