Two roadside bombings in Iraq have claimed the lives of two 1st Cavalry Division soldiers.

(January 22, 2007)—Roadside bombings in Baghdad and Mosul have claimed the lives of two 1st Cavalry Division soldiers.

Spc. William J. Rechenmacher, 24, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Thursday in Baghdad when a homemade bomb exploded near his humvee during combat operations.

He was assigned to the 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, from Fort Hood.

Sgt. 1st Class Russell P. Borea, 38, of El Paso died of injuries suffered Friday in Mosul when a omemade bomb exploded near his humvee during combat operations.

Borea was assigned to the 2d Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, from Fort Bliss.
