HOUSTON (August 14, 2009)--Police now say the boyfriend of a Houston woman whose 11-year-old son was accidentally shot to death is accused of moving the gun.

Ronnie Dewayne Brown, 23, was jailed Friday, charged with tampering with evidence.

His bond was set at $5,000.

Police initially were told that LaTorick Watson and his two brothers were looking for a phone when a backpack containing their mother’s gun was jostled and the gun discharged.

But investigators later determined Watson's 13-year-old brother was playing with a gun that Brown owned and that it was that weapon that discharged, killing the 11-year-old.

Police say they think Brown put his pistol in his car after the shooting.

Detective J.T. Barringer says maybe the woman "didn't want her boyfriend to get involved," even though the shooting appears to have been accidental.

I researched the problem. The problem is no one is using Safety Devices. Why? Most Safety Devices are a joke no self respecting gun owner would ever place a Cable or Trigger lock on his gun because if he needed his gun in a hurry he would be in trouble. The answer is a Safety Device that gives instant access to a firearm with out a key or combination lock. It would have to be fast, easy to use and cheap. There is only one device that does that the Safety Bullet you can see it at www.safetybullet.com and yes it has already started saving lives. Mike Worley Inventor of the Safety Bullet

Rachel.... You need to wake up. You will never get the guns away from criminals. Does the following look good? Everday law abiding citizens - 0 guns, Criminals - Millions. Do you see a potential problem with this?

Rachel, you are still a moron despite the fact I have not seen you post anything lately...When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Criminals do not abide by the law. So what makes you think that if guns were banned 'criminals' would give up their firearms? Law abiding citizens would turn their firearms over the Dictator, criminals would keep theirs, crime rates would sky rocket, and people would have no way to defend themselves against burglars, rapists, thugs, child molesters, etc etc. Get a clue, grow a brain.
