DALLAS (August 13, 2009)-- Prosecutors in Dallas were seeking the death penalty Thursday as the punishment phase began in the trial of a man convicted in a 2008 robbery that claimed the lives of two Christian music producers.

On Wednesday, jurors convicted James Broadnax, 20, of Texarkana of capital murder in the fatal shooting death of Stephen Swan, 26, of Carrollton.

The other victim was Matthew Butler, 28, who owned Zion Gate records.

Both men were gunned down, in a parking lot, after leaving the studio on June 19, 2008.

Texarkana police caught Broadnax and his cousin, Demariums Cummings hours later in Swan’s car during a traffic stop.

Broadnax still faces a capital murder charge in Butler's death.

Cummings is also charged with both killings but has yet to be tried.
