(January 25, 2007)--Two Angelo State University students died Thursday when their car ran off the road and into the Concho River east of downtown San Angelo.
The crash happened in the pre-dawn hours on South Concho Park Drive on the riverside.
Both men inside were dead when they were pulled from the car, which emergency crews found upside down in the river.
Police identified the driver as 18-year-old Mathew William Ansier of Leander and his passenger as 19-year-old Joseph G. Elmore, also of Williamson County.
Investigators still don't know what caused the crash, but they await autopsy results to determine whether the two were impaired.
